SEA Technical Memorandum #0205, SEAdog 4.50; Chat Mode Functions
Last updated: December 8, 1988

SEAdog 4.50
Chat Mode Functions
The "chat mode" in SEAdog 4.50 documents the END key to end a chat session,
and the PGUP key to transmit a file. There are two additional functions
available.
The HOME key is used to "drop to DOS" on the local system. Use the MS-DOS
"exit" command to return to the chat session. A pause command is sent to
the remote system when you hit this key, and a resume command is sent when
you exit DOS and resume the chat session. The person at the remote system
cannot type while you are in MS-DOS.
The PGDN key is used to "drop to DOS" on the remote system. The person at
the remote system will be asked if you should be given access, and must
concur. Again, use the MS-DOS "exit" command to return to the chat
session. Either party may type when you are in a remote MS-DOS session,
and both parties see the screen output. This is not a full "carbon copy"
style session, meaning that you will not see the results of any direct
screen writes on the remote system. However, all function keys and "alter"
keys will work, and you will see the results of any MS-DOS or BIOS output
including scrolls, clear screens, and cursor positioning. If carrier is
lost while you are in a remote MS-DOS session, the remote system will
reboot in thirty seconds.
